The Michael Graves College is composed of two schools: the Robert Busch School of Design and the School of Public Architecture. It is comprised of programs in Graphic Design, Advertising, Interior Design, Industrial Design, and Architecture.
Currently, the identities of the college and the schools lack consistency and cohesiveness. The challenge is to create a new brand identity to communicate the “idea of togetherness and oneness.”
Leaving a Legacy
The Michael Graves College carries the name of a well-known architect and a designer, Michael Graves. He is credited with expanding the role of the architect and designer in society and raising public interest in good design as essential to the quality of everyday life.
The new identity embodies a range of different grid-inspired icons reflecting each discipline and colors that reflect the disciplines’ personalities. The logo can be used as a lockup for both schools.
Frameworks is an evening event where graduating seniors showcase their portfolio to their families, friends, professors, alums, recruiters, and professionals in the industry.
The Michael Graves College open its doors to future students for an informational and interactive tour of the studio spaces as well as learning more about the college. Icon GIFs are also used for social media advertising.
